The trade name GAIS s.r.o. first appeared in 2006 in the Czech Republic.
We had our first experience with nautical chartering in 2015 in Italy, in the Sicilian port of Portorosa, where our love for the Aeolian Islands was born. This went hand in hand with creating a small charter base with the first sailing boats. The secondary office was gradually established in Italy, with local units in Latina, Messina, and Palermo.
From 2020, in addition to sailing boat rentals, we also offer our customers other services related to nautical charter and the organization of tours.
An essential structural change took place in 2022 when GAIS s.r.o. split off into two companies:
- GAIS CHARTER s.r.o. manages both owned and entrusted boats, takes care of their maintenance, sets up the delivery to customers, and supervises the bases of Portorosa and Palermo.
- The name GAIS s.r.o. was inherited from the tour operator and agency that deals with marketing and advertising pleasure boats. Takind care of customers providing them with all the information on vessels and contractual conditions.
Both companies use the GAIS logo; it is a fixed point that links them and, at the same time, guarantees the quality of the services offered.

We spent a week with them, embarking from Trapani to visit the Aegadian Islands and disembarking in Palermo, where they have their base. Very good pre-departure communication, thorough check-in and check-out, and perfect timing. The boat was in excellent condition, even though it's late August.

Chartered Notus (Dufour GL382) in Marina di Portorosa starting from May 29 - boat is excellent, well-maintained by the team (well, I am not a big fan of automatic headsail, but that's it) - Krystina and team warmly welcomed us, was always in place to support us (even with fresh forecast) - absolutely no problems with the team or boat :) - we had children aboard, and they are excited by the vicinity of Lipari islands! Highly recommended! (however, if I were you, I would buy a handheld VHF and easy-to-use life vests, but it's again my preference and my highest note for the company and the boat remains the same)
I had the opportunity to sail on a Dufour 430 GL from this company. The yacht was very well prepared for the cruise, impeccably clean. Mrs. Sonia was very kind and eager to help. No problems with the security deposit. I highly recommend her.
